What to do when it Dies

We bought 2 of 000-12641-001 on the same exact date. I mention them here because they use the exact head unit as this one. They both ""died"" on the same exact date. If all at once with no warning yours simply refuses to boot up and acts like there is no power connected at all there is a simple but NOT very publicized fix. Hold the following three buttons all in at exactly the same time for 10 seconds to bring it back from the dead. Push and hold the power button and the + and - buttons all in at the same time for at least 10 seconds. This will reset what a conspiracy theorist would call a ""designed in death date"". Other than this issue, they are great sonars. Just know what to do when it ""dies"" and it will last longer than a couple years.Lowrance 000-12641-001 are the units we have installed because they have the downscan capable transducer included. I ordered two of this unit to replace the head units on our two ""dead"" units before I found the combination of key presses to bring them back to life. I decided to keep them in case the two we are using now ever really die for good or I will use them on other boats.REMEMBER: Press and hold the power button and the + and - buttons at the same time and hold all three buttons down a full 10 seconds or perhaps a bit longer and most likely your ""dead"" unit will boot back up. It worked on two out of two for us so it should work for you as well.

This older HOOK 4x is way better than the new HOOK 2 (4x)

OK I just installed this fishfinder on my kayak. I bought THIS one because it is ""shipped and sold by Amazon"". Now as for slamming it because it does not have down-view transducer we'll I guess you could but I knew this going in and I only need the CHIRP for fish finding arches so not a big deal for me. By the way I own 2 of this model and a I also own the Elite 4 ""with"" the Down-view transducer. This is also the older version , if you go with the new HOOK 2 (4x) you are going to be even madder because the detail on that FF is nowhere near as nice as the this older HOOK-4x I dont know what Lowrance did but that new HOOK2 (4x) looks terrible. I think the new one do not have CHIRP on the lower end models and that's why it looks like spitI could be wrong about the CHIRP but I dont think so.

I bought this fish finder for my 12 ft Jon boat and completely love it. It is very easy to use while fishing. It gives you a ton of different feature and options to set. I also like how you have to option to set for it to alert you when you are over a school of fish. It was alos very easy to install amd the screen is easy to see in direct sunlight.
