Great unit for the price.

Great unit. Easy to install with the included equipment. I've run it for close to 5,500 miles now and it's performed very well. Ran it side by side with Waze over the course of 3,600 miles through WA, OR, and NV last month and it did real well. It even outperformed Waze when routing through central OR, saving me 1.5 hours compared to Waze. I guess Garmin finally figured out Oregon? That's amazing in and of itself.

Solid GPS, but too expensive for what you get

Solid GPS, but too expensive for what you get. Garmin does not include a wall charger, a car adapter, or an SAE fitting for motorcycle plug and play. Plus the battery is not user replaceable, which is a rather big negative if you do not have a way to charge it quickly on the go.

Basecamp still feels like a program from the mid 90s

So far typical Garmin headache. Basecamp still feels like a program from the mid 90s. Have spent 6 hours trying to load a OSM map on here because Garmin 100% does not sell maps for Korea or Japan. So. biggest GPS maker in the world doesn't even offer GPS maps for the worlds 3rd largest economy. OSM maps are the only choice. But they wont load on the Zumo.Edit: changes to 4 stars. Finally got an OSM map working on this thing. Still minus one star because it was such a headache and for the fact that basecamp is such a horrible program it's mind boggling. It's so hard to make a custom route and get it to your gps it isn't funny.I took a trip with my gps already. I have had two older zumos. this one is nice. I will give it that. Touch works well for a water proof model. Screen is bright even in the brightest sun. Not perfect, but visible in direct sunlight and that is something off brand gps can not pull off. This zumo is slim. Lighter. Yet feels sturdy. I had one model that despite it being water proof had the contacts rust out. Another one a friend is using is fine, but fat and bulky. They really seem to have improved the cradle and power connectors and ability to cover both the cradle and units contacts. I have yet to test it in the rain. Only time will tell.Right now my only complaint is probably price. But nothing on the market cones close. So it's demand. I tried a few different Japanese models and they are utter garbage compared to a zumo. And basecamp. Utter utter garbage. Garmin should be ashamed they still haven't fixed Basecamp into a usable product

Great GPS for my Ducati Diavel motorcycle

Great GPS for my Ducati Diavel motorcycle. You can mount directly to the riser attaching the optional touring windscreen. I bought a separate RAM 1 inch ball mount (AMPS mounting pattern). Fits the 2015 Ducati Diavel Carbon touring windscreen mount and allows the screen to tilt and swivel.

It's an improvement over older models, but still leaves a lot to be desired.PROSSolid piece of hardware, with a responsive touchscreen and water resistant case. The mounting hardware is top notch, too. Interface is faster and more responsive to previous systems I've had in the past (montana 650, Zumo 660, 2510)CONSConnectivity with other devices is inconsistent. I don't like spending an extra 5 minutes before a ride making sure my phone has the right app launched. It also has trouble connecting to my headset, which requires multiple on-off cycles in order to connect. Once rolling, it's hit or miss whether it will stream audio from my phone correctly. Also, if you have a Mac, expect an awful experience from BaseCamp. I was excited when Garmin announced that they were working on this 10 years ago, but it appears they have put little effort into it since. It has an experience that is like untangling Christmas lights using only your toes.

It's okay, but it's not Google Maps

I like a GPS on my motorcycle because I prefer my phone on my body. That's partly because I may need my phone in the event my machine and I are separated ( it has happened), and also because I have drowned two iPhones navigating in the rain. I purchased this model because my two previous Zumos quit working (!) and this one offered new features at a price point I could choke down if not embrace warmly. Using it is a learning curve; you have to learn to speak Garmin. My initial preferences caused it to offer some weird routing decisions. I'll learn. The bluetooth pairing to my phone seems okay, but I haven't figured out how to use all the benefits that is supposed to offer (music, traffic, weather, hands-free phone use). The pairing with my Sena headset seems finicky and unreliable. I'll keep it and use it but in this day, I don't understand why it feels like I'm struggling with 20 year old technology. Surely a company that creates glass cockpits for airliners has the know-how to make a user-friendly GPS that would function more like, oh, I dunno, Google Maps?

1000 Times better than useing your cell phone.

Takes a little getting used to. But works well, and love the ""Live View"" feature that is available once paired with your phone. I recently did a 1500 mile ride (Iron Butt) and was able to share my ride with friends and family that were interested. So much better than trying to use your cell phone and google maps to navigate.

My only complaint is the charger. Come on garmin. You're not apple, use common micro usb or usb c like everybody else. And let it charge from that while using the unit.

Good GPS, but a few things could use improvement

I bought this to replace an older Zumo 350. I wanted to take advantage of Bluetooth to be able to hear the turn-by-turn directions, and to also take phone calls and receive texts via the GPS unit. I have a Samsung S7 phone and a Sena 10S headset. My initial pairing went well, but about halfway through the ride I had some issues that ended up being due to another Bluetooth device I had paired to my phone (a Samsung Gear watch). Once I figured that out, I had no problems with hearing and controlling music that was on my phone, taking calls, seeing texts on my GPS, or hearing the directions. I do know that not all headsets will work with it: check with your headset manufacturer and Garmin if you aren't sure. One of the things I appreciate is the ability to tell it to not route you on unpaved roads, which I have mine set to do. While on my first ride, I tried out the Adventure mode. Loved that it took me on roads I had never been on before, but it did try to out me on gravel roads a few times. I don't know whether the Adventure mode overrides the previously mentioned setting, or if the data they have for those roads doesn't show them as an unpaved. All that being said, I would like to see a way to submit changes to their maps for situations similar to this.Another choice they have made that I don't understand is that they take info from and submit info to Foursquare. I was never into that, but I don't think anyone has been in years. Because of the GPS, I made an account, and the latest reviews for places I looked at were around 2012-2013 timeframe. Seems like they could have chosen a more relevant partner.Overall I'm happy with this unit, but it's not perfect.

Good unit I'd it would work with my headset: updated

Good unit if it would work with my headset. They tell me the next firmware update should fix this, but what if it doesn't and when will it come out? I have a Cardo headset which is one of the most popular. Music plays fine but no turn by turn or phone calls. Could live with some features not working, but turn by turn is important.Updated rating:The latest firmware update works with my Freecom 2 headset. The unit now works like it should and works very well. I now consider this a good purchase
