Sounds just as good as copper

FYI, this is copper-plated aluminum speaker wire and not solid copper. I used Amazon's basic 16-gauge wire to hook up two floor-standing Polk speakers to an older Rotel amp in our living room and it sounds just as good as the solid copper wire that I'm using with my office setup. I'm a stickler when it comes to my audio and I honestly can't hear any difference at all. Save yourself some cash and just buy this vs solid copper wire.

Braided copper wire with a black line to indicate polarity. Nice insulation similar to other speaker wire. Good price.

I feel that this is decent speaker wire. I personally cannot find much benefit in using really expensive wire. I guess almost all speaker wires are braided copper. These are as well.Getting the correct gauge for your application is key. I used this 16-gauge wire for bookshelf speakers that handle about 100 watts per channel. Almost all speaker wire has a way to differential the polarity. These have a black line on one of the two wires. That works for me.I use an Irwin wire stripper (pictured) and it stripped the wire just fine. Pull the handle and you are done. Some speaker wire insulation can be pretty stretchy and difficult to strip. The Irwin probably wouldn't notice that much but using a traditional wire stripper may be a little more difficult.I feel like the proper gauge, braided copper, a polarity indicator and being easy to strip are the only things that matter with speaker wire. It is made in China. The price is good.

Great basic speaker wire that performs well

This is the second spool of AmazonBasics 16-gauge speaker wire I've used for my home, and I could not be happier. The price is very good and the packaging is simple and easy to open.Performance-wise, it's great. The five speakers I wired using it all sound fantastic.Zero complaints here and would absolutely buy again. Single ""complaint"" is that it is not solid core - I would have paid more for it, that is for sure.

Basic wire for home audio. You only need 16 gauge for applications under 50? Feet. Works fine at 25 ft for me and I also have 12 gauge cables. I don't notice a difference in sound quality. There may be some difference, but to my ears, there aren't, and that's all that matters. Comes in a box and small spool. Easy to cut. Wish the wires were more differentiated. They look similar.Using onkyo 5.1 system 100w/ch with 2 Polk audio monitor 50s, 2 R50s, and a CS10

Sonically neutral speaker with that's easy to work with

My daughter was in need of a center channel speaker, which, of course, was an opportunity to upgrade. I bought a Micca MB42-C center channel speaker. The speaker wire that came with the original speaker was a not very good and maybe 20 or 24 gauge. So I paired the new speakers with AmazonBasics 16-Gauge Speaker Wire. I've been very pleased with the rich, sonorous sound and detail. The wire was easy to separate, appears to have good shielding and introduces no noise. Recommended.

The wire itself curls and twists easily enough so it isn't to difficult to get it
by Valued Customer on February 13, 2016

It's a big roll of speaker wire and doesn't cost very much. If you need speaker wire, it does the trick. One line is marked and one isn't so you can use that as a guide to route your positive and negative signal correctly. The wire itself curls and twists easily enough so it isn't to difficult to get it plugged into your devices. The casing is sturdy (perhaps to sturdy, it took me quite a bit of force to strip properly) so it should hold up over a long period of time and easily handles moves as well. Bends easier than I'd like, which has given me signal loss issues, but adjusting the positioning of the wire usually resolves that. 16-gauge is a good baseline if you've not done speaker wire before so this is a good place to start if you are looking to get a basic audio setup.

Enough speaker wire for you AND your friends!

Have you ever wondered how much is enough? Or how much is too much? Have you ever previously purchased a 50-foot bundle of speaker wire and held onto it for several years before it disappears completely? Well, here I am, purchasing a new spool of speaker wire and I am LOVING the excess this spool has. I opted for the 50-foot because of the value and extra wire it offers, 90% of which I will never use. I will search for the perfect situation where someone says ""shoot, I wish I had some extra speaker wire,"" and I will save the day by offering up the 40 extra feet I have left over. Someday soon, I will be someone's hero!

Great wire for a great price!

Awesome price and it works!Wired up a full surround system in my basement with this. Easy to run through the walls. And plenty easy to split, strip and hook up to your speakers and A/V unit.Unless you are in a scientific lab setting for doing and incredible long run of wire (like longer than this roll), or running HUGE speakers (bigger than normal home audio sutff. This is all the wire your need and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

CCA Rather Than OFC, But True, 16-Gauge At a Very Low Price
by Valued Customer on June 28, 2018
Verified Purchase

No, this is not oxygen-free copper wire (it is copper-clad aluminum), but no speaker wire at this low price point is OFC. Most importantly, it seems a genuine 16-gauge wire. Much, supposedly 16-gauge wire only has a thick plastic coating over a thinner wire. This speaker wire is very hard to beat at this price, which is why I have bought it more than once.

I used the wire to test my speakers because by the time we finish our movie room the warranty would've passed. I was impressed at the quality of the wire and would buy again.

Awesome quality

These are working perfectly with my Klipsch Home Theater, There is absolutely no reason to spend $40 in a store for the exact same cable.Trust me when i say that this cable will give you the exact same quality as a cable that costs 5 times more, I spent $2000 on my home theater system and if i thought i would get better quality with another cable then i would have spent the extra money, but i have been in the audio business for a while and know that it is all marketing, This cable will provide as good as a signal as the overpriced brands you see in stores (looking at you Monster!).

High quality wire at a great price

Got this speaker 16-gauge speaker wire for subwoofer install in 15' Camry. It's high quality at a more than reasonable price. Although the wires look similar, one has a white line on its side which makes discerning btw positive And negative much easier.BestBuy wanted $20 for the same 16 AWG wire so I simply got it off Amazon for less than $10. I look forward to the day BestBuy runs out of business.
