I am reviewing the new MC-MB256GA model which is the 2017 replacement for the MC-MB256DA. There do not seem to be a ton of differences between last years and this year's models. The U3 standard guarantees a minimum of 30 MB/s recording speed. The main reason I recommend these Samsung cards is due to the super high reliability and durability. There is nothing worse than going on a trip, filming days of videos only to damage the card or have the data get corrupted. The MC-256GA promises resistance to extremely unfavorable conditions such as withstanding up to 72 hours in salt water, operate and temperature ranges from -25 to 85 degrees Celsius. Further, the data on the drives is not affected by X-rays or magnetic fields which is good news for the frequent flyers.I ran a few card read and write tests and came back with an average of 61 MB/s Write time and 92 MB/S read time.In conclusion, this essentially the same great card that was released in 2016 with a few minor tweaks that likely will not be noticed. Performance will be great for even the most demanding users including 4k video, professional photography, and use in any cell phones, tablets, etc.
