Optically, these are lovely, with nice, bright, sharp And contrasty images. Great coatings, etc. A fifth star would be for edge-to-edge sharpness, like Swarovski, but they don't have it.Their durability is suspect to say the least. The eyecups are cheap plastic built to low tolerances that let in grit - which stripped one of them completely such that it no longer had detents or any way of staying up and in position. Furthermore, after moderate use (no drops) one of the barrels got ding'd enough to knock its alignment out of position resulting in a loss of collimation. Back to Nikon Repair they went, where the were repaired under warranty. Good warranty service. With more expensive binoculars - you'll get metal, not plastic, and an overall tougher build.
