Troubleshooting steps

1. Can not see image/ show video lost on your monitor?
This is caused by resolution compatibility issue. The default output resolution of the DVR is 12801024, which may not be compatible with some screens.
Here is how to solve it:

2. When you are able to see the menu, click right button on mouse, go to DVR's Main Menu - Setup - Basic -Video Output to lower the resolution of your DVR.
3. Connect it back your primary screen via HDMI. You should have it worked with the screen.

2. What to do if the camera can not work when connecting to DVR?
1.The cable may be damaged, please change a cable to test it.
2.Power supply may has problem ,please replace a new power supply for it.

DVR box is good. Took a while to set it up to view remotely. Sometimes works on LTE. Mostly needs a WiFi connection to see cameras. Keep losing connection to cameras (see picture). Not sure why.

I purchased this Zosi 8CH DVR without hard drive to replace my QSee DVR. I removed the QSee hard drive and installed into Zosi's. One click will format the hard drive in Zosi DVR. However, my PC was not able to view camera through Ethernet cable. I asked a help from ZOSI customer service. The person I worked with was ""Helly"" and she was professional and outstanding. I had a response within 24 hours and exchanged e-mails with her 5 times. She went through the troubleshooting for me with e-mail detailed instructions and snapshots. Finally, I can see camera view form ZOSI VIEW. I feel confident ZOSI stands behind their products. A great job Helly.

Debated on 4 stars but decided that wasn't fair because of the price, this is great for what it costs. I had a Q-See system go out on me recently and it was something with the motherboard not powering the hard drive. I think I paid over $700-$800 at Costco at the time and only had it for 1-2 years. Not wanting another cheap system I started checking into upgrading my DVR to a POE IP camera system but needed something in a pinch so decided for $60 what do I have to lose.Got the unit, plugged in the coax cameras, monitor, LAN, etc. and everything came right up. The interface is as good or better than the Q-See was. I have a static IP at my business and configuring the Q-See for remote viewing was a nightmare of port forwarding. This one has a type of P2P login that I was skeptical of because you have to register but it came right up and the client is lightweight. I haven't tried to go the straight IP route yet.My Q-See had a 2tb hard drive that when I pulled out was full of old video. The ZOSI recognized the drive and asked to format it which only took a minute.I view on an iPhone and mac using the apps. The mac app is only showing me SD which is bad quality but the iOS app is allowing a SD or HD option. All in all it will take some getting used to because it's different (the software on all these is questionable at best) but for $60 this is a fantastic.

I purchased this unit as I was in need of a cost effective DVR for our small business. After adding a 4TB hard drive (sold separately), I was still well under the cost of other units. There is A LOT to cover if you want to ensure that you are making the right purchasing decision so grab a cup of coffee and here we goINSTALLATION:Setup was simple as shown with ZOSI's online videos. It is indeed straight forward plug-and-play.REMOTE VIEWING:Here is where is gets involved. When you install the ZOSI VIEW client, you are required to create a free account (username and password only) for their cloud service. This is what makes the remote viewing plug and play. The both ZOSI VIEW and the DVR communicate with the cloud service. I have learned that this is fairly common practice as to simplify remote viewing setup. THE DOWNSIDE to this is performance. I had quite a bit of trouble maintaining a stable connection. I suspect that their cloud service might see usage spikes thus causing connection issues. THE UPSIDE is that there is an alternative method. The DVR allows you to configure remote viewing via an IP address or DNS/DDNS domain name (integrated DDNS client). You'll need some IT experience to set it up this way- Configure the DVR to use a static LAN IP address- Port forward TCP port 5800 on your router/firewall to the DVR- Setup the DVRs integral DDNS client if you have an internet connection with dynamic IP (typical)- Setup ZOSI VIEW to use the DDNS domain you setup -OR- your public WAN IP address if you have static serviceREMOTE VIEWING PICTURE QUALITY:This is a dual stream DVR. This means that remote viewing uses what is called a sub-stream. The sub-stream is transmitted at a lower bitrate to accommodate typically slower remote connection speeds. As a result, yes, remote viewing picture quality is degraded. No worries however as ZOSI VIEW can be configured to use the main stream for HD quality remote viewing. Keep in mind that a fast internet connection is required at BOTH the DVR side and remote side. This is VIEWING ONLY. Recording is always in HD. What I found great is that you can setup multiple devices (profiles) in ZOSI VIEW. My setup looks like this:- ""DVR-Remote"": connects via DDNS address with sub-stream for SD viewing on the road or at home- ""DVR-Local"": connects via LAN IP address with main stream for HD viewing when I am in the buildingWhat is really nice is that the cloud service stores your profiles so if you have multiple phone/tablets/PC's, all of your setting will automatically be there. If you do not want the settings to transfer across platforms, simply create more ZOSI VIEW cloud accounts and your settings can be kept separate. It is worth noting that if you are viewing the sub-stream, you can easily switch to the main stream if for whatever reason you need. In the mobile apps for Android/iOS it is labeled SD/HD. In the PC app it is labeled sub/main.PLAYBACK:You can playback up to 4 cameras at once. When playing back remotely, I have had some cameras drop, likely due to Internet connection speeds. I like that I can pick my playback window size-makes it easy for searching. I am hoping that once motion detection is setup, there will be indicators in the timeline for even faster searches.OTHER FEATURES:The DVR has the ability for motion triggered recording as well as email alerts. As of this review I have not setup those feature so I can not comment on how well they work. You can also to continuous and motion recording based on a schedule. This unit supports PTZ via RS485. It NOT support PTZ via COC (my only disappointment thus far).SIZE:This is a small unit. When installing the hard drive I noticed only 1 cooling fan-looks to be for the CPU. It does get very warm with the hard drive installed so be mindful of that when placing the unit. A temperature controlled room would be ideal.SUPPORT:Online help is pretty basic. It will get you setup and running however as of this review, it lacks any advanced support. This seller, ZOSIDirect as well as ZOSI Technologies themselves have been VERY responsive in answering my questions. If you are in the US, they are overseas so be mindful of the time difference.

Easy to set up

Easy to setup, just plug and download the app to view your cameras from any where. The app it self is a little weird, you have to keep selecting the device and cameras each time you launch the app, but other than that it is a pretty decent system. I have replaced my swaan system (I had 2 receivers and both stopped working at the same time) and compare to swaan, this system is really easy to setup for online view as well as connect to your tv.
