This isn't a bad lens for the price. If you are a pixel peeper or comparing it to a more expensive zoom, you will be disappointed.I use this lens and an A6000 with the kit lens as a ""throw it in the briefcase, throw it in the backpack, throw it in the car glovebox"" camera system and it's really OK for that purpose. It focuses pretty fast in bright light, the images are contrasty and reasonably sharp. Will this lens get you pro quality images of your kid playing soccer? No. But it should get you some decent snapshots of the game. A lot better than you would get with your cell phone. Can you use it for indoor sports? No. The slow aperture (f4.5-6.6) prevents that but it is about $2000 cheaper than a pro quality zoom you could use for indoor sports. This lens is great for travel, outdoor events, landscapes and nature photography. The size and weight of this lens make it a great companion for the A6000. If you have baggy pockets (or a jacket) you can easily stuff the A6000 with kit lens in one pocket and this lens in another. But this isn't a pro quality zoom so don't expect Sports Illustrated cover shots. However, you should be able to get some very nice landscape, nature, travel, outdoor event images with it.
