I wanted to find a game controller that worked with my Amazon Fire TV Third Generation. When I was checking out controllers on Amazon, at least at the time of my search the page for this controller said specifically that it is NOT compatible with the Third Generation of the Fire TV. I did some research reading up on product specs on here for controllers, troubleshooting the Fire TV, and googled for some product review sites, and could not find anything to conclusively tell me what controllers would, in fact, work with the Third Generation- most review pages simply say that they worked with the Fire TV, none mentioned what generation(s) at all. Even the lists of ""10 best"" game controllers that worked with the Fire TV- the products on those lists didn't mentioned that they worked with it on the Amazon pages for them. I gave up trying to find out on my own and gave Amazon a call. Over a half hour later, they could not conclusively find out either. They said that despite what the page said, that this controller should work with my Amazon Fire TV Third Generation. I promised to test one and follow up with them in a few days about whether or not it would work. I decided to be very thorough about it, and make an unboxing video showing whether or not it was successful. I am very happy to say that it does in fact work! I easily got it to connect, despite being a bit confused by how the directions on how to do so were arranged in an odd manner. (Every line of text was written in five different languages all in one place and I kept having to skip around trying to find the next bit in my own language.) I have included the unboxing video in this review. It is the first time I have ever made an unboxing video or edited a video at all so please keep that in mind if you take the time to watch it. Also, I did test the headphone port on the remote as I said I would in the video, and it did give me an error message saying that it was not compatible with my generation of the Fire TV as the page specifies, but that is the only thing that the remote can't do- everything else about it functions just fine, I play tested it with two video games, and used it to navigate around my Fire TV menu and also to control it with the microphone button as well.
