Perhaps one of the best products in the VR/MR market of devices.Good picture, big area of the accurate image, normal sound and excellent price.

For the money it's not worth it

Love the image quality, but the usage of the device sucks. The controllers are extra large, so smaller hands are not good. They feel like they are going to slip off my wrist and out of my hands. The headphones were a good idea but not properly functional. I hear so much outside noise, it's distracting.Unless you have a fan blowing the goggles will fog up.

Awesome Headset!

Really great headset. Far more mobile than oculus or vive and has same quality as vive pro. Controllers rarely lose tracing and you only notice if you're used to playing with a vive.

I briefly had an Occulus rift, but one of the controllers was defective and I couldn't just replace it and get the sale price that I had paid. That turned out to be a lucky break, since I bought the Odyssey because it was on sale, and I think I like it better. The higher resolution is amazing. The controllers aren't as good as the Rift and the windows mixed reality center is clunky, but you can basically just hook it up to steam vr and never really use the windows mixed reality center again. It's also nice that you can do roomscale vr without having extra cameras (they're mounted in the headset). This does have the downside of tracking being pretty poor whenever your hands aren't in front of you, but in practice that doesn't seem to actually happen a lot.

Amazing quality, but the Rift is a better buy.

The headset was pretty good. The resolution and fov was really great. Much better than the Rift and any of the other Windows MR devices. The screen door effect was way less noticeable. However it still suffers from the awkward and unreliable controller tracking that all Windows MR devices have. The headset drops tracking even when controllers are in the area where the camera can see them. Side from the unreliable controller tracking, there is still very little support on steam. There are a lot of work arounds to get the controllers to work, but since you can't rebind keys natively most of the work arounds are limited or require messing with config files and downloading 3rd party software. I'm honestly baffled that Microsoft hasn't done anything yet about the controller support and button remapping. Also the windows store is woefully limited in VR software, there isn't even a decent 3D movie viewer. All the good stuff is on steam. At this price point I'd say get a Ride. Even though the resolution is way better on the Odyssey. The Rift just has a more consistent experience, more support, more games, more software, and just a better overall experience. $450 is fall to much for the limited functionality of Windows MR.

but it's a sneakily awesome service. Basically gives those who want VR

plenty of reviews on line for this. Microsoft is very quiet about Windows Mixed Reality, but it's a sneakily awesome service. Basically gives those who want VR, but aren't interested in the external devices and wiring all over the room an affordable alternative to the competition. This is the best of the MIxed Reality lot, with a great screen and built-in headphones. It's worked well for me for months.

Headseat is gorgeous and the image very good. Quality is also excellent

Headseat is gorgeous and the image very good. Quality is also excellent, and the controller ergonomics are an improvement over the current offerings from other brands except what I noticed below. Here is why I returned mine:1. Light spillage even with velour aftermarket edge trim. You cannot turn lights off as it relies on identifying room corners, hence next point.2. Imprecise tracking, thrown off likely by my light colored walls without furniture in the corner of the basement where I have the VR setup.3. XXL head here, very hard to take on and off, I was at max strap aperture.4. Cannot wear with eyeglasses, even with the protective silicone covers over the lenses, the HMD would push my low profile millimetric titanium Porsche Design minimalist glasses right into my orbits.5. Controller batteries average four hours, battery cover is flimsy and just pops off with a tiny dollar store toy latch.I paid double for the Vive Pro (don't even ask me about the 8700k 1080Ti 1TB SSD 850w liquid cooled rig) but I can see the difference, none of the above problems with it.Maibe it is just me, but as a combat flight sim pilot I need precision and comfort, now that I have gray hair and responsiblities, I need the little time I have for gaming to be quality time.

Excellent quality and build. The headphones are particularly handy. Only drawback is the nose bridge area that is uncomfortable (the rubber flap - designed to prevent stray light from coming in - can become bothersome after a while).

I originally bought the Lenovo explorer but man that headset gave me nothing but problems. Luckily when I returned it, the Samsung Odyssey had gone on sale, so I gave it another go with the mixed reality, and I'm glad I did. It is an incredibley fun vr experience for me and my family. I'd definitely recommend it.

Good headset if you happen to be one of the lucky ones that it fits properly.

This could be a great headset for the money as the resolution/screen is the same as the Vive Pro and this is far cheaper. However the fit is terrible for myself, and many, and there's not much you can do to change it.Comfortable fit is extremely different from person to person and I get that but the other major VR HMDs have ways to change it up to make it more comfortable. The silly Windows Mixed Reality interface to Steam is pretty clunky but it is getting better.
