I used to read on my iPhone and I love the Kindle app. It's just that I want to take a device and just go read. Plus, the waterproofness sounded great by the pool, etc. Since I've never owned a Kindle some of this review may be a bit obvious for long time Kindlers.Pros:1. The battery lasts forever, just forever.2. It's so easy to read, the backlight is lovely too.3. It really is waterproof (I got it wet, read in the rain, etc).4. No notifications, just reading.Cons:1. Slightly hard to hold. It's just a BIT too heavy, a BIT too awkward, and a bit too slippery (metal back)2. The screen refresh takes getting used to (again, as a non-Kindler, this was new to me).3. Highlighting is WAY clunkier than on my iPhone. It's just a bad experience and distracting, honestly.4. Hard to plug in unless you have non-Kindle light (micro-USB doesn't work both ways like the lightening connector, and it's hard to locate the plug).I gave this device a 4 star rating because it really is a much nicer way to read than my iPhone. I think if you're trying to save money, I might go with a less expensive Kindle. But if you want to read by the pool, this is the device for you. Oh, I also have used my AirPods on a Kindle audiobook. I think that the experience is much better on the iPhone Kindle, app though.BUYER PRO TIP: You can use the Prime Now app to get this thing like same day.
