My old paperwhite was over five years old and it was finally starting to give up the ghost. Wouldn't hold a charge for long, seemed as though it took ages to download a book so decided I'd get another. Decided to stick with this one rather than spend more on the Oasis after reading reviews. Am very happy with the quality and download speed of this Kindle. Was totally easy to set up, took minutes and then in less than 15 minutes I had downloaded the 90 books on my current kindle to the new one. For the price well worth trading in my old one for the newer faster one. even if you've never set one up, there is absolutely no way to mess it up, well unless you pick the wrong language and end up having to learn German.

I'm disappointed with this purchase, which I bought to replace a previous generation Paperwhite which I accidentally leaned on. The layout is different and my library is not so easily accessible, plus I believe I paid extra for ""no offers"" yet ""suggestions"" are indicated at the bottom of the screen whenever I turn it on. And what's up with ""Goodreads?"" I don't want to be bothered with this and suggestions based on my reading habits. I'm tempted to return this overpriced version of the Paperwhite (don't really need 3g) and look for a previous version with just the basics, thank you very much.

This is my second kindle but my first ""touch"" experience. It's great- kind on the eyes and very easy to navigate. I'd recommend this version with free 3G network connection if you don't have reliable wi-fi hotspots on the go.

The best thing this device has is the resolution, you can see a standard PDF page in the screen with no zoom (if you have eyes good enough).As far as I know, It uses 802.11n.Bad thing is that sometimes it get stuck, not sure if device is defective or it's standard behavior.Second bad thing is the translator (bing), I could have prefer Google.My reference is my old Kindle Paperwhite 3G+WiFi First generation.
