This did exactly what I needed it too. I needed to go through several hundred old family slides and see which ones to digitize. It took some batteries, but that was all. Sometimes it is easy for the slides to get stuck - but an extra push - I never had any major problems. It was easy to use. For the price, this is perfect.
Good product
Nicely made, substantial, good basic functionality, superior magnification. Had first ordered the PanaVue-2 for about the same price - shameful for Amazon to even carry an item like that. Wouldn't even rate it a toy. Returned it right away, happily ate the $5 return fee.
Does an excellent job to view negatives
I was able to get the job done with theMedalight 35mm Film Slide and Negative Viewer however, it would stick once in a while. It was not difficult to remove the slide, usually by turning the viewer upside down and pressing the button to eject the slide. The viewer works fine to magnify a slide large enough to know what the picture is.

We decided to have some of our slides preserved and transferred to disc. This slide viewer came in handy as we sorted through hundreds of slides.
Exactly what was needed to view slides from 40's to the 50's of my parents.
Like it but as others have posted the slides sometimes stick when ejecting them.
Light is bright and the slides are clear.
the only problem is the small size of the screen but you get what you pay for. If someone need a viewer for 35mm slides this is a good choice.
