Decent printer for the money

Setup was easy and straight forward.Software is decent.Prints, scans and copies fast. It seems (so far) to be very efficient with ink usage as well. The only gripe I have with this printer so far is the rear card stock loader is garbage. It jams often and loads inconsistently. So, if you want to make double sided greeting cards..good luck. It's difficult and results in a lot of wasted ink and scrap paper.

Works great and has all the functions listed

Works great and has all the functions listed. My rating is middle of the road because it often times says it's got a paper jam and nothing is wrong which is starting to wear on me. We use it in a small office and it sounds rather weak, but we haven't had any problems other than the jamming issue. Having to check is multiple times a day is annoying. We are using regular copy paper. The ink seems to last a while and is a great price. Overall a nice value printer.

Ink Life is the Biggest Selling Point of this Otherwise Average Printer

If you do a lot of printing or hate buying refill cartridges every few months (or weeks), you will probably love this printer. If you're like me and only have an occassional print job, you may want to look elsewhere.First there's the setup. It took me nearly an hour from the time I opened the box until I printed a test page. After inserting the cartridges, it had to go through a 6 minute cleaning cycle before I could continue. Then the colors didn't print correctly (at least I thought they didn't), which they said was due to a clogged jet (how could a brand new printer be clogged before ever printing a single page?). So I needed to repeat the 6 minute cleaning cycle it already performed. Once that was done, I did another print test with the same results. Turns out, the yellow ink is just extraordinarily light compared to the red and blue so what I thought was poor results were actually normal. In between all of that, I set the date And time, connected to our wi-fi, loaded the paper, etc. Compared to the setup of a HP Laser Printer which I receivied around the same time And took only minutes to setup, this Brother was a huge pain to set up.One problem was the lack of setup instructions and on-printer labels. No where in the box (or on the box) is a diagram of where each part is. This is my first Brother printer, and I had no idea that it had an actual paper tray like professional printers have. I had to go to the internet, find the manual and download it before realizing where the paper tray was. There's a manual feed located in the back of the machine (which I mistakenly believed was the paper feeder at first), which isn't the best place. I can't be the only person who's printer is on a stand (table) against the wall, which means you have to pull the whole stand out And away from the wall before manually feeding the paper. And then you can only feed on sheet at a time! What?! Who wants to stand there and manually feed one sheet at a time to print a multiple page document on paper that's different from your regular printing paper?!Once it was finally set up, the print results were fine. I actually think my HP Envy prints a little bit better (but I'd have to print a side by side comparison to be sure. Once I do this, I'll share the results). I have not yet tried the copier or scanner, so I will update as necessary. Overall, I just wasn't all that impressed. With a $300 price tag I was expecting to be really WOW'ed, but I found myself cursing it out while trying to set it up. It really leads me to believe that you're just paying more up front since you won't be buying ink refills as often. In the long run, if you don't do a lot of heavy printing, you can probably save yourself a lot of money by buying a less expensive printer who's cheaper refill cartridges may need to be changed every few months rather than every few years, but where the total of both would still be far less than $300.

easy set up and so far so good but I have only done basic printing which is all I usually do - not sure how it will respond to labels of card stock. I have a photo printer for photos so I will update if anything new shows up but so far so good

So far, so good!

So far, we love this printer. It's an upgrade for us from an old Canon that cost us an arm and a leg for ink. We hope this one lives up to its promise of being more affordable in that regard. One thing I love about it is being able to print from wherever my laptop is, instead of having to move my computer to where we keep the printer every time I want to use it.

Does a good job, prints two-sided. Color feature is good. Cheap construction though. Every time I load paper, I think I am going to break it!

Let me start off by saying this, i have

Let me start off by saying this, i have, it still works a brother printer that i bought approximately 15 years ago (MFC-240C) This printer has outlasted about 5 computers I just installed my new printer. and i couldn't get it to connect wirelessly, i think that's me not knowing how to than the fault of the printer, so I attached it by the printer cable. I needed a longer one and luckily i had one. After the performance of my older Brother printer. I wanted a new Brother as the first one is still going, the license has expired but it still works and that impresses me after all this time. It prints and thats all i care about Brother will always be my go to for printers
