A wonderful machine! Picture is very bright and clear even on my off white walls. The system has a setting to adjust to multiple colored walls which really helps the picture! Would highly recommend to anyone, very easy to use.

Great Picture, No Projector Sound

The picture was great, but even with a sound bar, could not get decent sound. I verified that everything was hooked up right between the audio in and out and the HDMI connection, but the volume was so low no one could hear. Wound up returning it and will be looking for something with internal speakers and a way to amplify sound with a sound bar connection.

Last year our office ordered the MH530 (this model's older brother) and did a head to head comparison with our previous 2 bulb BenQ behemoth, at 10ft projection size we were impressed (even with the lights on). So we were looking to replace some of our ""loaner"" projectors and it was an easy choice to make: the latest in the MH530 line, a little larger then it's predecessor (I'm guessing for better heat dissipation) but an addition of one more HDMI input. We've switched to an entirely digital throughput, I like to set this up on ""presentation"" mode with the HDMI set to ""limited"" as it seems that's the best to make the image really pop. Great color rendition and 15,000:1 contrast make this a winner, especially when other manufacturers are charging double for what BenQ is serving. Would (and do) highly recommend!

I managed to catch a good deal on this projector. After going back and forth in a few different models in the $600 range I pulled the trigger on this one because of good reviews across the web, and a spectacular price. The picture is fantastic. Given the layout of the room it went into I went with a 100"" screen. It's mounted 142"" away. The picture is bright, even on Eco mode. The only bad thing I have to say is I wish there was a little more finer control as far the picture goes, but it's still a fine picture with the limited control.

I really like the picture quality with this projector. We have used it as an outdoor theater projector on a 12 foot screen, and the picture was bright around dusk. Setup of the projector is quite easy especially when using the remote. I haven't yet seen much of a difference between the ""bright"" setting and the ""Smart Eco"" setting, so I figure I'll be keeping it on Smart Eco for now. Connecting a Fire Stick or laptop was extremely easy and immediately found by the projector as expected. For all the goodness of the picture quality and ease of use, it falls short in audio. The audio out port is weak in terms of power. Yes, most of the time, the sound won't be driven through the projector, so it's a lesson learned on my part to drive audio around the projector.Even with that shortcoming in audio, I highly recommend this projector. The bump in picture quality from SVGA or WXGA to full HD is really worth it.

Excellent Projector for the price. With 3300 lumens it is easily bright enough to see during the day. Was very impressed with the 3d DLP option.Very quiet, can't hear it over even conversation levels of sound.

phenomenal brightness, color, contrast, and overall picture - even during the day. unfortunately: doesn't cooperate well with Apple TV. you'll need to turn on ""match content settings"" for dynamic range and frame rate in your Apple TV settings. otherwise, every other Netflix program will play back jittery, with subtle flickering in the middle of your screen. i had no such issues with my last projector or any television for that matter.this settings requires the input to refresh every time you play something, displaying a glitched out multicolor flashing benq logo for a brief second - sometimes color noise - really bright and awful.my other complaints are in the OS: the keystone feature is extremely rudimentary, only letting you adjust vertically, not side or angles. also, most image controls (sharpness, etc) are greyed out in the settings.

This projector has a great picture, fan is quiet and it looks good even with some room lighting on. We have it ceiling mounted (there are 3 mounting holes on the bottom and you can set up the picture flip in the settings) Also there are many settings to be able to customize the picture for your needs as well as a neat future of eco mode which is supposed to extend the life of the lamp- I don't notice too much of a difference between eco and normal. Good solid projector and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a short throw 1080p projector

After some researches and purchased BenQ MH530FHD to replace my Acer projector that lasted for more than 10 years. I use it basically for home theater and occasionally as a computer monitor for church meetings in my home basement. Used this for about a month and found that this is a good buy.Pros:1. Color is very good right our of the box. I don't need to do much adjustment.2. Easy to install. The installation is pretty standard and easily fitted with three screws.3. Bright with 3300 lumens, so I can use it even during the daytime without blackout the windows. A big improvement compare with my old one.4. Price, comparatively low price in 1080p projectors.Cons:1. You can hear the fan noise if used a computer monitor. No problem in watching movies.2. Some rainbow effects; however, it looks like my eyes adapted to it after a few uses. All in all, MH530FHD is a very solid 1080p home theater projector. I don't think you can find a better one for this purpose and in the same price range.

I bought this replacing a VIewSonic that was 4 years old and had a popped pixel. Just received this and hooked it up today. Really easy to setup. Seems to be nearly calibrated right out of the box. Really eager to put this thing to use. So far, so great!
