I bought this lens about 4 years ago along with the 85mm f1.4 And NX30. It's has never failed me. It's the perfect travel lens. It's light for its build. Smooth zoom ring with almost no throw. For me it goes from 18mm to 200mm in under a full rotation.Stays mounted 90% of the time unless i need the amazing quality And low light capability of the 85 1.4Looking forward to spending the next few years developing my video skills with it.Know that all of Samsung pro-sumer is expensive due to its level of design.

Great all around lens. It was a little heavier than I expected (the weight is the same as mentioned in the description) and causes an odd balance for the little mirrorless camera. No regrets.

It is so confusing trying to find out which lenses will work with my NX1. I had a lens like this for my old 35mm Minolta and I loved it. (Got some great shots) This will be the perfect lens for those grandstand pictures of the kids. It arrived quickly and was well packaged.

I strongly recommend this lens if you do not have the 50-200

I strongly recommend this lens if you do not have the 50-200 or the 18-55. Bad news is Samsung is closing their photography department and this will be obsolete.

Very Good glass. The lens is on the heavy side but the build quality is very sturdy. The image stabilization is good and overall the lens is a great value considering its 18mm wide and 200 mm at the other end. The dedicated iFn button, which allows control of various camera settings in combination with the focus ring is quite handy. The one purchased on amazon from a 3rd party ended being defective so I sent it back and promptly purchased another one elsewhere online. The FULL FRAME equivalent for this lens is actually 28-308 mm, so still pretty wide.. and quite a zoom! Not a particularily fast lens but hey.. you'll be shooing outdoors most of the time. Comes with a nice clover lens shade, and soft lens bag that you can put your small change in. I uses this lens primarily for video work and so far so good. As I mentioned, the image stabilization is good but not great, that is to say don't expect steadi cam like smoothness when you're hand held and zoomed all the way in. I shoot a lot using a mono pod and that's where the lens stabilization really shines. I like the features on this lens, especially the wide angle. No distortion, although I do detect a bit of softness at the 200 mm end but I expected that. Overall, a good solid all-in-one solution for multi-purpose work.

Other reviews said it would be my only lens needed. I agree! It is heavier but not bad. It also requires more battery so buy some spares.

This review will be very brief and to the point without really discussing technical details, from the standpoint of how I use this lens.I have multiple Samsung NX1's and I do videography and photography for events, weddings, personal portfolios, etc. My primary lenses for this role are the Samsung NX 16-50mm f/2.0-2.8 S Series and this Movie Pro 18-200mm. The 18-200m lens is probably my most valuable lens for the videography aspect of my job, while I rarely use it for the photography side. In video, you don't want or really need the tack-sharpness achievable with the S lens; 1080p and even 4k resolutions don't push either of these lenses beyond what they can resolve. So, in video, you don't really see an increased level of detail when using one or the other, which makes the extra zoom range very valuable. In video, the Samsung 18-200mm is an excellent choice and highly recommended. This seems to be Samsung's intended use for this lens and it certainly excels at it.In the realm of photography, sharpness and a lens' ability to resolve detail are paramount. The more the better. The 28MP sensor on the NX1 is just too much real detail for the Samsung 18-200mm to resolve. When shooting at 50mm and directly comparing the shot to the S lens mentioned above, the S lens detail is 4-5x sharper. I would never use the 18-200mm for a model portfolio shoot. That being said the S lens is an amazing piece of glass and almost 2x more expensive, so it only makes sense that it's a better performer. They aren't really in the same class. The point of comparing these two is this: they both represent the best Samsung currently has for different purposes- the 18-200mm is the best videography lens Samsung currently produces in the NX lens line and the Samsung NX 16-50mm f/2.0-2.8 S Series is the best general photography lens that Samsung currently produces.Depending on your budget and what you plan to do with the lens, the 18-200mm is an excellent choice. Given the ""Movie Pro"" designation in the title, it's clear what Samsung intended this lens to be used for and it shows. If you're looking for a NX1 lens to replace all of your other glass for photos, this isn't it- but it's not intended to be. Excellent videography lens that excels at its intended purpose warrants 5 Stars from me. I wouldn't shoot a wedding without it.
