This review will be very brief and to the point without really discussing technical details, from the standpoint of how I use this lens.I have multiple Samsung NX1's and I do videography and photography for events, weddings, personal portfolios, etc. My primary lenses for this role are the Samsung NX 16-50mm f/2.0-2.8 S Series and this Movie Pro 18-200mm. The 18-200m lens is probably my most valuable lens for the videography aspect of my job, while I rarely use it for the photography side. In video, you don't want or really need the tack-sharpness achievable with the S lens; 1080p and even 4k resolutions don't push either of these lenses beyond what they can resolve. So, in video, you don't really see an increased level of detail when using one or the other, which makes the extra zoom range very valuable. In video, the Samsung 18-200mm is an excellent choice and highly recommended. This seems to be Samsung's intended use for this lens and it certainly excels at it.In the realm of photography, sharpness and a lens' ability to resolve detail are paramount. The more the better. The 28MP sensor on the NX1 is just too much real detail for the Samsung 18-200mm to resolve. When shooting at 50mm and directly comparing the shot to the S lens mentioned above, the S lens detail is 4-5x sharper. I would never use the 18-200mm for a model portfolio shoot. That being said the S lens is an amazing piece of glass and almost 2x more expensive, so it only makes sense that it's a better performer. They aren't really in the same class. The point of comparing these two is this: they both represent the best Samsung currently has for different purposes- the 18-200mm is the best videography lens Samsung currently produces in the NX lens line and the Samsung NX 16-50mm f/2.0-2.8 S Series is the best general photography lens that Samsung currently produces.Depending on your budget and what you plan to do with the lens, the 18-200mm is an excellent choice. Given the ""Movie Pro"" designation in the title, it's clear what Samsung intended this lens to be used for and it shows. If you're looking for a NX1 lens to replace all of your other glass for photos, this isn't it- but it's not intended to be. Excellent videography lens that excels at its intended purpose warrants 5 Stars from me. I wouldn't shoot a wedding without it.
