Great battery bank for all sorts of devices, provided you own a PS Vita 1000

This thing is a great battery bank. Holds a great charge for a long time, can dish out power at high amperage for things like iPads and they're a decent price. The downside is that they require the Vita 1000 charge cable to charge up the battery Sony themselves have discontinued production of these cables and they're getting quite difficult to find, so if you don't have one of these proprietary cables, this piece of hardware is 100% useless.

Not for newer Vitas

It's important to note that this portable charger requires the charger cable for the OLDER PS Vita. I purchased this not knowing that it requires a cable that is no longer compatible with the newer Vita. I bought this a while back, but only recently realized the mistake I had made. It's unfortunate because it's capacity (5000mAh) is pretty good for its size particular for when its release. For those who have a newer Vita and do not have the cable to use with this charger, I would not recommend purchasing this even if you were considering buying the other necessary cable separately. For the combined price of this unit and the replacement Vita cable, you could buy a power bank with more capacity for the same price without the need for a proprietary cable. Overall, this is a good option if you still have an older Vita, but for everyone else, there are much better power bank options available that have more universal applications. Also, I should note that the particular unit I received had packaging and instructions that were entirely in Spanish. While this was not a problem for me personally, other who can't read Spanish should be aware even if operation of the unit is fairly straightforward.

Purchased two of these from WHOLESALE OUTLET with FBA (fulfilled by Amazon). Brand new and sealed! I'm glad I read the reviews and purchased the KMD PS Vita AC adapter kit that's for the PS Vita 1000 (aka fat PS Vita, the first gen) in order to charge up these portable chargers. It took 7-8 hours to charge each portable charger. I really needed this for days I'm just playing my vita nonstop, especially when there is no outlet near me where I'm sitting/laying comfortably. This kit only comes with the PS Vita portable charger, no micro usb cables for the PS Vita Slim, no AC adapter (the one for the first gen PS Vita) to charge up the portable charger device. So keep all that in mind.

RECHARGING YOUR PS VITA FTW!

Serious Review; Puns IntendedThe ultimate battery power bank for your gaming needs. Now comes with a cool Playstation Logo so you can show off to your non-existent friends that you have an official licensed Sony product! But enough with the bickering, this is one of the best battery power bank you can get. It recharges the PS Vita around 150%. That's more than double your gaming time. With a huge gaming library for the PS Vita, this should help satisfy your game time anytime. But on a serious note, you need the charging cable for a PCH-1000 model to recharge this but you can find that easily. Oh, and you can charge other electronic devices like a smartphone and stuff but who cares about them non-Sony things. PS Vita FTW!tl;dr Summary List:Official PS Vita Portable ChargerOvercharge your Vita 150% to the MAXCan be used to charge other electronic devices via USBRequires cable adapter from PCH-1000 series to recharge the battery

For a lousy PS vita battery life, this item becomes a must have.

Let's be honest here, PS Vita is supposed to be a portable item, what was Sony thinking when putting a built in battery in the PS vita that allows you to use it for 3 hours (without Wi-Fi), I found it a major flaw when you find yourself in a long haul flight and only in the waiting area you have drained half of it? (unless you fight for an AC outlet in the airport full of cell phones charging), the AC adaptor is bulky too, I tried to use my other backup battery for my PS vita and it didn't seem to juice it enough for it to work, or Sony played again it's annoying game as it does with it's memory cards restricting to only ""Sony"" brand ones.Anyway, the extra battery will provide you with some additional life to the device which is great when you dont have power outlet in an aircraft. The only ""Con"" of the portable charger is that basically I was forced to buy it if I wanted to use my PS Vita for more than a few hours, but the portability starts to be an issue when I need to carry two cables, one bulky AC adaptor and a back up battery, which by the way caused me to lose the AC cord as it's easy to forget when carrying ""too many"" items in addition to the device.

It is a nice to have power bank, love the lights and the good looking.BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE IT:Make sure you have the PSVita 1000 series cable and power brick, otherwise you won't be able to charge it IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE 2000 SERIES CABLE AND POWER BRICK.In my case I have both, so, no issues.

I bought this as charger for my PS Vita which to a lot I'm sure is dead by this point. To which I would tell you are wrong in every way if you haven't played Danganropa, Senran Kagura and other fantastic titles. This is about the charger though, which I got for a long plane ride and had a few games left on Vita I have to finish. The charger is very small, no more than about two inches long all around. It takes a little while to charge and actually as able to charge my Vita completely on one charge. Sadly that was all I got out of it, but with the remaining juice I used for my Iphone. The charger has three colors, orange for charging, Green to full battery and Red for dying. The only way to charge is using the PS Vita (old cable) and connect it from the Vita (old) power brick cable. All in all thought, it worked great, and although the outside packaging was a bit of a mess it works perfectly

The first thing I noticed about this charger is it has a great build quality to it. I feels solid and has a nice finish, surprisingly small for this amount of power compared to other external batteries I've seen. I charges quickly and the light indicator shows its power levels nicely. The fact that this charges other devices not just the vita is icing on the cake. I didn't even realize that part until I got it. Priced at $22 with free shipping (as a prime member) is a great bargain. I've yet to try running my Vita battery down to zero to really see if the 1.5 times charge they claim is accurate. Update on that to come soon. Some reviewers complain that it needs the VIta charger to charge it, while this is true we must bear in mind that this charger was meant for the Vita therefore they assume that you should already have a vita charger. Plus they probably want you to use the VIta charger anyway so that this battery charges faster since the Vita charger puts out 5 volts not 1 or 2 like most usb chargers. I suppose they could have allowed you to do that but it would have taken forever to charge, which in my opinion kind of defeats the purpose of it to be a quick battery backup device.

This is a nifty little charger, but beware, if you have a newer vita then you'll have to buy one of the old style usb cables. Also I've read from several people that the 3rd party cables don't work properly with this so make sure you buy an official Sony one. I actually had to pay more than the cost of this charger just to get one.

just something worth noting if you are buying one in anticipation of a long trip like me. Also

I purchased this portable battery pack in anticipation of an upcoming 11+ hours international flight. Everything works as advertised and the other reviews are accurate in stating that you will need the power adapter that came with your Vita to charge this device. I will add one thing that surprised me which I did not see mentioned in the reviews I read before purchase. The battery pack arrived drained. The electronic devices I purchased recently (new iPhone, iPad, etc.) all came almost fully charged right out of the box. So it is not ready for use right out of the box, just something worth noting if you are buying one in anticipation of a long trip like me. Also, it took around 5 hours to fully charge this device for me. So another thing to consider when planning to use this device during your trip.

I have a couple of USB chargers for my Iphone 4s and IpadNew Trent iMirror 6000mAh Heavy Duty 2A/1A Dual USB Ports External Battery Pack for the new iPad, iPad2, iPhone 4S 4 3Gs 3G, iPod Touch all versions, Samsung Galaxy Note, Nexus, S2, And S, HTC Sensation EVO Thunderbolt, LG Optimus V, Blackberry (Bold curv. The amperage required for the Vita made this a necessity for me, I'm sure that their will be third market replacements soon, but it really is portable, and I get 5-7 hours of straight game play more with the CHarger. Color coded led lets you know when it's charged [Or needs charged] and it fits right into my Vita travel pouch.

This battery is perhaps the best portable battery I've bought so I'm gonna do my best convince you to buy it. It's also discontinued, so it could sell out any time. For $22, this battery is on par with those fancy expensive external battery packs sold in Best Buy and other accessories. It's well made and light, has a simple button with different lights representing battery usage, and can charge the to nearly full battery around 2 times, but this is just going off of the mAh rating. You need to charge it the same way to do a Vita, but once it's fully charged, all you need is the USB cable for the Vita and you're good to go. You can then slip it into your pocket or preferred case of choice (the official Vita pouch works great for this, since it has two accessory pockets) and you're not gonna run out of juice while out for a long period of time.Did I mention it can charge other portable devices, too? All you need is the USB cable for that device and you're golden. Of course, it's not gonna fuel up higher batteries like an iPad or MacBook, but for things like smartphones, you can get multiple charges out of this thing.Overall, this is a great purchase for not just my Vita, but my other portable devices as well, and I'm glad I managed to pick one up after it's discontinuation.
