I researched wireless chargers for days, trying to find one that was 1) less expensive than the Samsung brand, and 2) had a cooling fan to keep my new Note8 from overheating. I did not like most of the alternatives, so I finally looked at this convertible unit. I like the fact that I can position it standing up or laying down, depending on how much space is available. I didn't realize that the Samsung unit had a cooling system built in (Verizon website did not disclose that in their description). I bought this unit because the price was less than anywhere else. One concern was the case on my phone, Spigen Slim Armor CS, and whether it would charge through it. I found that it will work but only in the laying down flat mode (Gravity helps it, I guess). If I remove the case, it will work in the upright mode. The charger does a great job of Fast Charging my phone even through the case with cards in it. All of the other units I researched did not include the charger, just the cable. This unit has ""everything"" you need, all Samsung products! No hassle of trying to order the correct, or authentic Samsung charger to work with the other units. I read too many reviews of fake Samsung chargers that burnt up, or melted or ruined phones.
