I purchased this Garmin on 05/17/2018 after the band on my previous Garmin Vivosmart HR fell apart. I like a watch that can get a little wet, day after day. I don't mean one that stays submerged under water for hours but one that will tolerate a daily shower, one that can withstand a dunk in dishwater, one that I can wear when scrubbing water buckets for my horses, dogs, etc., one that tolerates sweat, and one that just generally tolerates exposure to moisture/water. My original Vivosmart HR was advertised as ""water resistant"" and it proved to be so. I loved it and everything about its functionality. Its weakness/problem was the connection between the band and the USB charger. It was a bad design which eventually caused the band to break. The watch itself was A+. The Vivosmart 3 offered even greater water resistance and addressed the band/charger problem with a far superior design. Why only 3 stars? The battery life is a bit disappointing but it is rechargeable! This is my MAJOR complaint. I am supposed to be able to double tap the display screen to ""wake the device."" Sometimes I have to tap dance on the display screen just to check the time of day. According to my owners' instructions and the Garmin website, I should be able to use a ""Wrist Gesture"" described as ""Rotate and lift your wrist toward your body to turn the screen on. Rotate your wrist away from your body to turn the screen off."" My watch has never done this. NOT ONCE! While it is still under warranty I will be returning it. While I LOVE all of the ""smart"" functions offered by the Garmin Vivosmart line, I still really want to be able to take a quick look at my wrist to tell time. Meanwhile, I plan to order a new band from Garmin for my old Vivosmart HR.
