Description

Pair a SYLVANIA LIGHTIFY ZigBee Motion and Temperature sensor to your ZigBee smart hub and enjoy simple, hands-free lighting control. With your compatible smart home hub, easily set rules to automate your lighting by choosing a device, group, or scene you want to control and set how long you want the command to remain active after no motion has been detected. Monitor room temperature remotely with the integrated temperature sensor and trigger scenes based on comfort level or integrate with other compatible smart thermostats and plugs to turn on fans. This sensor is intended for indoor use only and mounts easily with no wiring required; lithium battery included (CR 2450).

  • A compatible ZigBee hub is required to control this sensor. Pair your light to a compatible ZigBee hub such as SmartThings (Device Handler required. See Installation Manual below).
  • With a detection area of 15 feet and detection angle of 100 degrees, activate lights when motion is detected in a room or turn them off when motion stops.
  • Use the integrated temperature sensor to monitor the temperature in a room. Create an automation to adjust your smart thermostat or turn on a smart plug to cool down the room with a fan. (Compatible ZigBee hub required.)
  • Can be mounted to walls or stand alone on a shelf. For indoor use only. Battery included (CR 2450).
  • The OSRAM LIGHTIFY Gateway is not required when using a different compatible ZigBee hub. ZigBee LIGHTIFY smart sensors will not pair directly to voice control devices such as an Amazon Echo Dot or Google Home.

Unsure if product came defective

Failed to connect to a wink Hub and to a SmartThings Hub. Included directions say to hold down button for 10 seconds to reset when device blinks blue. Never happens. When the battery goes in, it immediately lights up green for 2 seconds and then goes out. No other lights happen. Do not believe side button is functional.EDIT: after looking through forums I waited the hour for initial sync and it did connect to the wink. Still does not seem to match the instructions but it has been communicating

I now have these all over my house to provide temperature readings and protection via motion detection. The sensors on these devices have shown to have a greater accuracy than the thermostat that controls my house (so far). I'll update after I see how the battery these units hold up.

But simply to control bed stand lamp.I have a smart bulb in both lamps on each bed stand, no switched Outlet.so this looks like a great way to control the lamp, without manually turning it off, which would obviously render the smart function dead.Working great! Connected to SmartThings immediately. Set up lighting automation to control the bulb, and we are off to the races.Important note, using the switch with SmartThings gives you two programmable buttons, it will not function as a dimmer. Which is great for me! I will have one on each nightstand, each with two buttons that can control each bed stand lamp. The response is freakishly fast, it pretty much feels like you're using a manual wall switch.Someone else here posted it would not work with SmartThings, it does, perfectly. This unit is actually a recommended item in the SmartThings app

With this Switch, Less is Definitely More

I purchased this switch to use with my Smartthings hub to control a Sengled bulb. When the switch arrived, I attempted to use custom handler that I found on the Samsung SmartThings forum - OSRAM Lightify Smart Dimming Switch(Ultra-fast Zigbee Handler, No Smart App) This handler attempts to provide lots of functionality with this switch, but our family found it impossible to use when the switch was set up with the device handler. You had to be so precise when attempting to use the switch and even then the light would almost always start doing something other than what you wanted. Trying to turn it off would cause the light to dim, trying to turn it on would result in a bulb that would blink on for a second and go back off. It also messed up my motion handler that I have been using for over a year - motion would turn the light on, but it would no longer go off after the no motion event. A day after getting the switch on the wall, my wife and kids were telling me to get rid of that thing. Before I packed it up, I thought that I'd take a look in the reviews to see if other were having this problem and I found a review from September 17, 2017 from Cooper that described using the default device handler (Zigbee Button) and I thought that I'd give it a try. I changed the device type back and set up a simple on/off lighting automation. Since then it's been working great - touch the upper part of the button to turn the bulb on, touch the bottom part and it goes off. It's fast and the motion handler is working properly again. My suggestion is to use the basic handler and keep it simple.

I live in AZ, where water can be more expensive, so our home has a water pump that circulates hot water continuously throughout the whole pipe system. This makes it nice so that when you turn on the hot water, it is immediately warm and you don't have to waste water while waiting for your shower to get to the right temperature. The bad thing about the pump system is that my water is always being circulated, thus wasting energy running the pump and natural gas to keep reheating the circulated water 24x7.I added a smartthings hub and a few outlets around the house to help automate some things that could save money. I added a smartthings outlet to my water pump and then set a schedule to turn it on/off at specific times (when showers are most commonly going to happen). I immediately saw a drop in power and natural gas usage! Now the issue became having to open the smartthings app in order to turn the pump on/off when outside normal times. Especially a pain with guests.Enter this switch. It paired super fast and easy with my Samsung SmartThings Hub v2. Next I created a ""pump on"" automation event and set it to trigger when the top button is pushed. Then I made another automated event and set it to turn off the pump when the bottom button is pushed. Done.I am ordering another one for the upstairs bathroom now!The switch is simple, yet looks nice and functions perfectly with Samsung SmartThings.

This is a pretty nifty little device

This is a pretty nifty little device. It's super tiny and inconspicuous. I currently use it in conjunction with my Wink hub to turn on my office lights when it detects my presence, and turn them off if I leave my office and forget to turn them off manually. Additionally, it controls them to be bright and white during the day and less bright and warm after sunset. The temperature sensor doesn't update quite as frequently as I was expecting, but it still works. In the winter I have it set to turn on a smart outlet with a space heater if it drops below a certain threshold. A space heater with a built-in thermostat, or a smart thermostat, would work better, but hey! For a cobbled-together solution it's not half bad. Battery life seems to be better than expected as well.A note on connectivity: If you're using this in a large house or a house with a lot of walls that can dampen signals, and this device doesn't seem to be triggering reliably, you may need to repeat the zigbee signal. The easiest way I've found to do so is to get zigbee smart outlets and plug them in at intervals between your hub and your most far-away device. Essentially, any zigbee device that is plugged into power (e.g. not battery operated) will repeat the zigbee signal and make your zigbee network more reliable. Because this device is battery operated, it cannot be used as a repeater.

Use it to automatically turn on a closet light (smart a19) that doesn't have a wall switch. Works reliably and from a trusted brand.
